michal_sofer
Hello,
I would like to buy a canon ef 85 f1,2 mark I for my 5DII. In some threats some people were complaining on the side AF points in terms of accuracy when using this lens. Could you tell me your experience with this combination? Thank you!
eric_boutilier_brown1
I have the lens, and a MK II, and have no complaints over the AF accuracy. The speed of the AF is very slow, as the reviews say, but when it is in focus, it is REALLY in focus, it is sharp beyond belief.
michal_sofer
Thank you for your answer, but my question was about the accuracy of the side AF points of 5DII, when using fast lenses due the shallow DOF...
vadtel
I have 85 mark II and it's accurate with every AF point at 5D mark I and II. I think it will be the same with 85 markI.
anthony_thornborough1
I use the 5DII and 85LII and the combination is great, albeit heavy.
The slow focus is more than compensated for by the accuracy of focus, no doubt aided by the wide aperture.
I now realise I need a 35 f/1.4, but am hoping for a mark II with SWC coating etc etc
Cheers

ken schwarz
Another vote of confidence for this combination. Focus is right on every time. I never got the 30D and 85/1.2 to work together so well.

hawkman
85 f/1.2 will utilize high precision AF when using center point in 5DII, you can also adjust back/front focus with 5DII, if you use peripheral points accuracy will be lower, especially in lowlight, also AF is really slow with this lens.
