hannes pieterse
I am new to studio photography and would like to know the following:
How do I connect my D70s to a pc to enable me to take photos and be able to display the photos on the pc screen? If I use the supplied USB cable and connect that to the pc, the camera automatically goes into a "PC" state - which is normally used to transfer photos after the photoshoot.
I would most probably need another type of cable, (and / or software)? but do not know where to start.

regards
Hannes
errol young
You need to pay for Nikon's Camera control. It will not display the view live but it will download any shot taken directly to the PC. Newer camera's like the D300 can view the live view on the PC. same cable.
Matt Laur
Yes, Nikon's Camera Control Pro software will work, or you can try Bibble Pro from Bibble Labs. Both pieces of software support tethered shooting, and you can download each for a 30 day free trial to see if they'll do what you want.
hans_janssen
Or you use the freeware camera control from DIY http://www.diyphotobits.com/?cchd
