norman_miller
I can't be the only Rollei user who would like to see a smoother way of covering the lens between shots other than removing the hood, removing the filter and attaching the lens cover. (IMO, it's the only thing about the Rollei that needs improving.) What I've done is to have sewn a small bag of opaque material with an elastic at the opening so that it slips easily and securely over the whole business. Looks most inelegant and I hope I won't be expelled from the club, but there it is. Does anyone have a different or better solution? jerry_lehrer
Norman Sure, the Benser Bag/Case does just that. You also could use the case front for the Tele- Rollei or the Rolleiwide. That permits keeping a hood and filter in place Jerry
donald_brewster
Jerry -- Could you explain the Benser case? I'm not familiar with it. Thanks.
mark_eban
Try using the collapsible rubber hood. Then with a normal leather case, you can collapse the hood and close the case...
kara_woodward
Where can one find a collapsible rubber lens hood (bay 1)? Is that the heliopan /hood shade? Any other ideas for aftermarket hoods in Bay 1? Thanks, Kara
Bill Bowes
Hello everyone. I have 4 YashicaMats in constant use. Each is equiped with a Bay 1 to 52mm adapter. Each has a 52mm rubber lens hood into the adapter. Filters, lens caps, etc all are easy to put onto the front. This arrangement will work for the Rollei cameras with the Bay 1. A Bay 3 adapter is also available. I suggest you pick the adapter size to fit the filters for your 35mm if you have them. Much cheaper than the Bay 1/3 units, and a greater assortment to choose from. Enjoy, Bill
Bill Bowes
Hello again. I brain faded. Forgot the answere to the rubber lens hood. Look on Ebay (search: rubber lens hood). Several dealers will sell the hoods at 1/2 the retail price. Just replaced one last week. Bill
