any TC that will let me shoot manual lenes in auto ?

<p>Only TC I know off that allows AF with MF lenses is the Nikon TC-16A. <p>No. No offense to the previous poster but manual focus lenses have no mechanical or electrical focusing connection to the camera.<br>

<p>None taken Eric - but you are wrong - I suggest you google "Nikon TC-16A" and read a bit - you find plenty of reading material here on PN too.<br /> BTW, I did own one - no longer though - and I know what it could and could not do with MF lenses.</p>

<p>The TC-16a is what you desire, but it will not work on either of your cameras. D2 and F6 are the last cameras it works with (and some before that). It can be modified to work on other cameras, but then it is a tricky job and you need to have access to tools and a regulated solder station.</p>

<p>I think we need to clarify this thread by saying the tc-16a will provide some autofocus range for some manual focus lens. It is not a device to convert a manual focus lens to total autofocus use.<br>

<p>I have used the TC-16A in the past. It works with some of the recent cameras but only a few of them, most from the pro caliber bodies. It worked well with some lenses but wasn't as good as the TC-14 line. I had good results with the manual 400/3.5 lens.</p>

<p>Hansen Tsang is correct. The TC-16A doesn't make a manual lens a true AF one. You still have to manually focus then the TC-16A does the minute AF fine tuning. The AF range is very shallow so it works great on subject that move parallel to you but is not very practical if the subject moves towards or away from you.</p>
