tom_barrance
Has anybody used the Dicapac waterproof cases? I'm thinking of getting one for my D300 so I can use it for canoe trips etc - not underwater, just so the camera doesn't get wrecked if it gets splashed or falls in the water. I can't justify the cost of a housing designed for diving.
bernie moore
Tom, first of all I know nothing about the Dicapac except it's currently heavily advertised on Ebay and costs about $120 plus shipping. I'm a diver who spends a lot on getting my gear safely underwater. That said if I had to take my D200 with me on a narrow unstable tube I would use a couple of Zip locks one inside the other and be careful. I'd bring a half dozen spares too. I am assuming you are not going to want to pick up the camera every few minutes and shoot. If that were the case the Dicapac has a lens through which you can shoot. Bottom line: ( safer+ shooting =Dicapac) (carrying and protecting from moisture - shooting = a brace of Zip locks)
