j. caputo
I am looking to hear who you all use to process your large format film here in Southern California? I know Freestyle photo in Hollywood does a great job but it is a drive for me. I can always send them but I like the idea of a lab that I can walk into and speak to them face to face. Any suggestions? I live about 30 minutes east of downtown Los Angeles in the city of La Verne.
frank_skomial
7 years ago I used a photo lab on Arrow Highway, just West of what was then 210 freeway. This would be West of San Dimas shopping area. Ever since the 210 was extended to San Bernardino, that South going piece of 210 is no longer called 210 since the 210 went straight East. ...it you live there near by, it should be familiar to you.

The lab was inside a little shopping area next to Stater Brothers, or right hand side on Arrow Highway going West from the freeway towards Covina.
j. caputo
I know where that shopping center is.. Did they do the processing in house or send it out? Alot of shops come and go in that shopping center so I would not be suprised if they are long gone. I will take a look.
james nelsen
There is a great guy named Tom who owns a place called Darkroom Workshop in Pasadena;
not too far from you. Check it out; http://www.darkroomworkshop.com/
He's low key, very competent, but I am not sure how much 4x5 he does and he only does B&W.
j. caputo
He does good work but his prices seem crazy high. He charges $20 per 4x5 black & White negative. I find most people are charging about $3.00
BrianS1664879711
There also is a place called "The Darkroom" in Northridge. They do both B&W and E6 processing up to 4x5.
...
bill_taylor2
You can drop off at Samy's in Pasadena. On Walnut, just east of Fair Oaks. They use an outlab. Or go to the Samy's in LA/Hollywood on Fairfax near Farmer's Market. Not terribly far from Freestyle.
