send2cbd
I have a ETRSi kit ( with AE-iii). Great camera. So, I bought a ETRS body ( not "i"). I moved all
parts over to the body. But, the AE-iii wont power up. I push battery check - says okay. I move battery from
ETRSi body to ETRS body. AE-iii wont power up. Is there some difference here I'm missing? All parts
work fine on the ETRSi body.

Thanks
thomas_barnes1
The AEIII finder isn't meant for the ETRS. There are some electronic contacts that the ETRSi has that the ETRS doesn't. Otherwise everything else should work fine. Sorry...
Uncle Goose
Yep, no contacts to get it to work, the only thing you can do is score an aditional AEII prism.
geowelch
My understanding was that Bronica rigorously maintained backward compatibility within a product line. It may be that it won't work quite the same way as it did on your ETRSi, but I think it should work. My AE-II prism on my ETR requires that I press a button on the front of the casing to view the exposure readout. Even on auto it doesn't display a thing unless the button is pushed.
