Using Nikon SB-900 as command

<p>Quick question regarding using Nikon SB-900 as command to trigger another SB-900/800 wirelessly. In this situation, can the command still fires as key light? Or it only communicates to the slaves and does not fire its own lighting?<br>

<p>It does fire its own flash also. You can use it in TTL, full manual or even turn it "off" so that it's just a commander but in practice you may still get a bit of light from the master into the picture, if I recall correctly (I use the SU-800 as commander; this control signal doesn't show in the picture).</p>
