jeffevans
Anyone know if Lightroom 1.4 or 1.x will support the 5dmk2?
images_in_light_north_west
No, you need 2.2
adrian_lowe
Ross is right, 2.2 it is, but at least its cheaper than getting CS4.
charles_zabilski1
Lightroom does things CS4 doesn't and CS4 does things Lightroom doesn't. Maybe you need both.
david_littleboy__tokyo__ja
You might be able to use Adobe's free DNG converter to create files LR 1.4 can deal with. But LR 2.2 has enough improvements that it's probably worth the upgrade cost.
jimstrutz
I agree that LR version 2 is worth the upgrade price, but version 1 should work if you convert your CR2 files to DNG first.

jeffevans
This is a disappointment, since I have the 5d2 and lightroom 1.4 and CS3. So that means i'd need to upgrade PS too?
jimstrutz
Jeff, all you *have* to do is download Adobe's free DNG converter, convert your new files to DNG format, and then LR1 and CS3 will read your 5D2 raw files just fine. I do this all the time, since I prefer to deal with DNG anyway.

I think LR2 is a worthwhile upgrade for $100, but so far have been unable to convince myself that CS4 will help me with anything.
jeffevans
Thanks Jim, I think that's what I'll do for now. It just seems like a pain. I'll get LR2 soon enought...

cheers,
jeff
