Epson Stylus 2200 and Windows XP compatability

<p>I just inherited an Epson Stylus 2200 photo printer. My operating system is Windows XP home edition.<br>

I would very surprised if the 2200 flat out just doesn't work with XP.<br>

Is there a way to get the 2200 and XP working.</p>

<p>I don't know why you think an Epson printer would not work with the most common PC operating system? I think all you need to do is install the driver that enables XP and the printer to talk to each other. Go to <a href="http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=14402&prodoid=20306147&infoType=Downloads&platform=Windows">the Epson 2200 drivers for Windows</a> and install the appropriate driver following the instructions, should be fairly simple.</p>

<p>Same here. As Peter said, download and install the latest driver from the Epson website. You should also download/install the Status Monitor.</p>

<p>Sounds kind of familiar to me. Had problems with USB port, but of course thats not a xp problem?</p>

<p>Hans has a point. If it does turn out to be a USB port problem, consider using a Firewire connection. I made that switch some time ago (no problem, just needed to free up a USB port on the PC), and it works just as well as with USB.</p>

<p>Uninstall/reinstall the printer driver. USB is far better than Firewire.</p>
