larry schaefer - chicago,
I just inherited an Epson Stylus 2200 photo printer. My operating system is Windows XP home edition.
I would very surprised if the 2200 flat out just doesn't work with XP.
Is there a way to get the 2200 and XP working.

Thanks
Larry Schaefer
pbarnes
I don't know why you think an Epson printer would not work with the most common PC operating system? I think all you need to do is install the driver that enables XP and the printer to talk to each other. Go to the Epson 2200 drivers for Windows and install the appropriate driver following the instructions, should be fairly simple.

William Kahn
Same here. As Peter said, download and install the latest driver from the Epson website. You should also download/install the Status Monitor.
photos of hans koot
Sounds kind of familiar to me. Had problems with USB port, but of course thats not a xp problem?
William Kahn
Hans has a point. If it does turn out to be a USB port problem, consider using a Firewire connection. I made that switch some time ago (no problem, just needed to free up a USB port on the PC), and it works just as well as with USB.
jtk
Uninstall/reinstall the printer driver. USB is far better than Firewire.
