jameshaskins
hey all,

searching for a bag for my bronica sq-ai system. I have three lenses (150,80,40) that need to fit with the body. ANY suggestions? obviously some room for film and what not. I can get a good idea with the online sites..

thanks!

james
cpj
Get a Domke F2 bag. It's the #1 professional bag of the National Association of Press Photographers for a reason. It has done the job for all types of cameras in all kinds of conditions for more than 20 years and is still the most popular and best selling pro bag available.
richterjw
I like the LowePro Stealth AW200 and the LowePro Off Road, though I prefer the later because it has both a waist belt and shoulder strap. Both have available accessory pouches that can be added on. JR
q.g._de_bakker
I like the Lowe Pro Stealth Reporter Series too. A lot, in fact.
But the 200 is too small for that kit. Best would be a 400.

You can add a waist belt, if you so wish, to that bag as well. But alas, not a decent back pack harness. Would have been nice.
maury_cohen
To add to Q.G. de Bakker's comments; the current Stealth Reporter D-Series bags do not accept an accessory waist belt. There is a 25mm security type belt/stabilizer strap included. The older generation Stealth Reporter AW bags did accept the S&F Deluxe Belt (except for the 100AW). The S&F Shoulder Harness can actually be adapted to carry the Stealth Reoprters on one's back. It's a workable solution that a number of photographers have utilized. This adaptation requires a piece of aftermarket hardware available direct from Lowepro. This adaptation is not recommended with older Stealth Reporters that close only via buckles (no zipper).
Maury Cohen, Lowepro US - Prduct Specialist
frank_bunnik
I am not very fond of the stiff nylon bags. I used a Billingham Hadley (classic) made from canvas to pack a Hasselblad 500 series camera, 3 to 4 lenses (1 mounted on the camera), 2 backs (again 1 mounted to the camera), a polaroidback, a Sekonic lightmeter, several rolls of film and some lenshoods/1 compensium lenshood. The bag is small on the outside, does not weigh much and is comfortable to carry.
gary_watson
One good shill(Lowepro) deserves another without any blatant commercial connection. Try the BIG Auction Site dealer photococan for deals on Domke. Frankly, I've consistently passed on Lowepro due to clunky ergonomics, so-so fit-n-finish, price and overbearing "Hi, I'm a Camera bag" look. The Domke is low-key, modular(swappable inserts), tough, and better-made in the USA. The F2 would do you for your kit. Spend a few extra $ and get the more durable ballistic nylon version--the F2B. Ask photococan to sell you the Domke shoulder pad, too. Sorry, Maury!
q.g._de_bakker
Maury,
Very interesting.
Though my bigger Stealth Reporters are of the older, no-zip version, i'd love to hear/see what to do to attach the harness.
I had been thinking how to do it, what to change, myself (perhaps only an extra buckle, like the Specialist has? - also a great bag, though it will always fall over when you set it down somewhere).
But if something is available from/through LowePro, no need to. What is this thing called, what can i search for on the site?

Gary,

I am not connected to Lowe in any way, other than as a customer, so i can honestly, without hidden agenda, say that i love the Stealth series bags very much. Very flexible. Comfortable. And they do not say "i'm a camera bag" anymore than Domke's bags do (a bit too spartan for my taste).
But to each his own, of course! ;-)
