Justin, I had seen that pic of Caney in the PoW thread and thought is was really brilliant (and I'm not jsut saying that because Caney is my favorite e-dog). It sounds like your cat is the kind I would like to have, except my wife is allergic to them, so there goes that idea.

Back to the Viv 28/2, the reason I'm selling mine is cos I upgraded to the PK/A mount version (identical in every way except for the contacts). Even though I got the 31 Ltd I'm going to keep it for my film cameras and for the DSLR when I don't want to endanger the 31 Ltd. I think we've talked in the past about how 28mm is a great focal length to have as it works well on both film and APS-C (although its purposes are different in each case).

I have this 2/28mm under the Kiron name, and it simply came with a K2 body I was buying for $74. Both went to Hendrickson for CLA but he said the lens needed no service. It's surprisingly good, probably on par with the 2/28 SMCP, but I haven't used it on a body other than the K2.

00RnGY-97507584.jpg.24656d193aa1e90e4d2667e6dd6dfd4e.jpg

Tom, your cats sound great. I never EVER thought I'd have a cat for a pet as an adult (sort of), but I'm glad we found one of those rare catdogs!

well i did some quick UFRAW conversions, and then a basic sharpening in GimpShop.

Why am I using these free programs? Well I am testing out he netbook and while the Atom processor can handle much more than I've thrown at it, the goal isn't to bog my little UMPC down with big programs. I've stripped windows down to the basics and even with just 1GB of RAM this machine is quite fast and capable!

However, this is not color managed (yet, calibrating will be done shortly), and I know the screen is slightly cool. It's also possible they are oversharp (although the sharpening was merely 65/.6/2 at 1600 pixels so it shouldn't be to sharp). So I'll look at them on the desktop with the rest of you and see.

These are from the K10D handheld. I do not remember the f/stop on the post truck but the shutter was 1/100th. I think the aperture was under f/5.6 since I kinda decided shoot the mail truck while shooting something else.

The other shot is at f/8 but it's through glass on my deck. Again, no glaring issues, and I did take some shots into light Friday, with no ghosting.

I wish I had the PKA that Miserere has but I'm happy with the PK, and considering it's in mint condition.

Above photos were changed so flickr disables sharing, even though I didn't delete them, but used the "replace option"!

I went to see one for sale on Craigslist today. $20! I was so excited, although tempered - the guy kept saying it was a "T-mount". Well, I was hoping for M42, but turns out it was a Cannon FD mount. He insisted that could be swapped out for a Pentax T mount he had nearby, but by then I figured the aperture was frozen open and said no thanks. Looking at the pics above, I wish it had been otherwise. There weren't any T mount Kirons, were there?
