astral
Does anyone have experience of using a Tele-Xenar M39 lens - various focal lengths - on a LTM camera? In particular, how well does the Tessar construction work at this focal length (on 35mm format), especially inregard to field/edge sharpness and illumination fall-off and the sweetness of the "bouquet"(!) I have seen a very clean T-Xenar 10.5cm f2.8 for sale around £175 (GBP) locally: this is significantly dearerthan, say a 100mm f1.8 Canon or 9cm f4 Elmar (though less than a Nikkor), so I am wondering how the performancecompares to such lenses? Any thoughts please? AC
dave_s
Tele-Xenars were made with a range of different designs, but I think that they were never straight tessars.
lluisripoll
Which viewfinder do you use with the Xenar 10,5 cm? . I own the Elmar 4/90, how do you find the bouquet of the Schneider, it is smooth? Thanks for your comments Lluis
astral
Luis - the lens was for sale, but because I could not find any information on it I did not buy it. Canon made a 100mm viewfinder (to match its LTM lenses) which should be accurate enough - possibly Nikon too. AC
