ted_springer
Hi all, I have a 67mm lens and a 72mm polarizer. I have a step up ring for the lens so that I can use the filter, the only problem is that it makes it impossible for me to use the lens hood :( Any ideas on a fix for this? dave_s
Buy a screw-in 72mm lens hood.
bjscharp
Seems to me that using a polarizer with a hood would be a PITA anyway (groping deep inside the hood to rotate the CP), unless you're talking really wide angle (shallow hood), in which case the hood won't be missed that much anyway... john_cox7
A screw-in type lens hood would rotate with the polarising filter. Gripping the lens hood would rotate the filter. What lens are you using this combination on? I have used the Nikon HN-20 lens hood (72mm) from the 85/1.4 MF Nikkor on a number of other lenses with the 72mm filter mount, and in particular, the Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 with the 67mm filter and a 67-72 step-up ring. User_4136860
IMHO, you don't need a hood with a polarizing filter, it could also cause vignetting .
