jemal.yarbrough Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Javier I love the bubble man photo. The bubbles look awesome. I also like the one of the lady near the hat stand. George your black and white of the lady with the Jacob's Creek wine is fantastic. And like Javier I was busted a time or two myself. In fact, the lady in the down the pier shot busted me to her husband and moved indoors out of the next photo...lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jemal.yarbrough Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 P.S. Javier your bakery window shot is the best of the best so far, and that's saying a lot considering the number of great shots in this thread. Bravo! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jgredline Posted October 22, 2008 Author Share Posted October 22, 2008 Thanks Jemal for the kind words....Part of the fun in street shooting is getting away with it. What a rush, I tell ya. it is so much fun...I also love taking pics of familys. Those are perhaps my most favorite type. There is something special about a mom or dad with there kids...Maybe because I spend as much time with mine as possible and it brings great joy to see happy family's...By the way, I got busted in the third shot. No harm as I ended up e mailing them the images....+ it helps that I do not look threatening...But there have been times when it got a little ugly as in having to delete my pics...But it is after all part of the fum... Here are some of my favs.... - - - Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

jemal.yarbrough Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Here are three from yesterday at Venice Beach. I call it my Superman Series. Anyway, I was feeling bad since I only had my old black F 80-200mm kit lens from back in the PZ-20 days and an even older SMC 135mm f2.5 lens and everyone else on the beach was walking around with big Canikon lenses. But I think these shots show that the old Pentax consumer lenses can hold their own.

Up, up and away!

Is it a plane? jgredline Posted October 22, 2008 Author Share Posted October 22, 2008 Haig, Set up a photobucket account and upload your images their. Once there, it will manufacture the HTML codes for web postings. Depending on what forum you post in will determin what code to use. On Pnet it uses traditional old school code....that looks like this. Here is my photobucket account. I am just now loading pics into it. I was using image shack for a while, but it is too slow and photobucket is cool..I have the pay one, but it is the same as the free one, less the advertisments. http://s404.photobucket.com/albums/pp128/jgredline/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jgredline Posted October 22, 2008 Author Share Posted October 22, 2008 Jemal, that is some great stuff...I know what you mean about the canikon folks as well....I will be visiting Venice very soon. I usually go out to Santa mONICA. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

jgredline Posted October 22, 2008 Author Share Posted October 22, 2008 For those who are wondering I was using my Sigma 135-400 lens with my Tamron 1.4tc........ As I was cruising through Long Beach, I saw this beauty from a distance and I shot her... so i walked a little closer and she turned... But suddenly the pro's saw me and chased me away...... Or so they thought...I simply moved to a different spot and kept firing..An advantage with a long lens.... But she was a shy one at that.... Oh, busted........ But as you can see by this crop and her smile...She approved.... :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

garry_young1 Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Wow, what a thread! Javier, we're going to have to do this again! I am late to the party here, and this is already a huge thread. Maybe we can do it again next week? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jgredline Posted October 23, 2008 Author Share Posted October 23, 2008 Garry, the must, needs to be a weekly thread....But it is not too late...I know you have plenty of stuff for this thread...Lets see it :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
garry_young1 Posted October 23, 2008 Share Posted October 23, 2008 Ok then Javier! Let me just put up a few that I already have on my flickr account.
Oh damn, too many to choose from!
OK. Here are 6. Only 6. Limiting myself here. Let's see, this first one is a more creative abstract kind of street shot:
<a href=" title="20080726-IMGP0053 by Garry Young, on Flickr">
This next one gets on the list because of the bottle of whiskey. OK - and the girl!
<a href=" title="IMGP1690 by Garry Young, on Flickr">
This next one is one of my best subway shots:
<a href=" title="IMGP2544 by Garry Young, on Flickr">
This one gets posted to demonstrate how there is no such thing as zoning in Taiwan. Industrial, residential, and farming zones are terms far from people's minds. Took this down the road from my apartment block.
<a href=" title="Leveling the rice paddy by Garry Young, on Flickr">
Hmm, 2 more. Tough! OK. The next one is one of my favorites:
<a href=" title="Billboard by Garry Young, on Flickr">
Let's finish off with another subway shot. Balanced the camera on a railing.

There. The others are just going to have to wait for another opportunity! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
