BP-511 troubles

So my BP-511 batteries have been acting strangely as of late. They will sit on my chargers (I have two) and the chargers will say that they

are charged right off the bat, even when they are dead in my camera. Sometimes I will leave them on the charger for a few hours and they

will charge and sometimes not. I have no idea what the issue is, but it's really unnerving to know my batteries might die out instantly while

i'm on assignment. What might the problem be?

When the batteries are dying, they will show that they are charged in the charger, but not in the camera. They don't last forever. Get new ones.

Symptoms of death. These types of batteries generally last 1-2 years. You need a new one. Sterlingtrek and be done.

would this problem be magnified by leaving the batteries in my battery grip when I'm not using the camera?

Not unless you've disabled the auto-off mode. I leave two in my BG, and they seem to last forever.

DBL Distributing in Phoenix...Ultra-last and a couple of other brands...work VERY WELL. Don't

even consider Canon replacements. NO better...just way more expensive.
