lars_brorson_fich
I use a Singh-Ray variable ND filter, which can get me down 8 stops, but I have terrible problems with what I believe I “ghosting”. Can anyone recommend an ND filter or filtersystem, that is sufficiently coated for use with a digital camera ?Re. Lars Brorson Fich
howard_m
I dont have a VariND but a lot of people seem to be successful w/ them. Are you using it stacked w/ any other filter(s)? using a hood or some sort of cutter/flag if possible? Most of the very high factor ND's are not multi-coated but the 1/2/3 stop ones are. chris_rowe1
Cokin creative system is a good filter system. Check them out.
Ed_Ingold
An ND filter reduces all light, including that which would cause flare or ghosting. As with any filter, use a proper lens hood and avoid shooting into the light. For critical work, consider using a Lee "compendium" lens hood. charles.dadswell
Lars: Can you say a bit more about the "ghosting"? I use the Singh-Ray variable ND filter and haven't had any trouble. Maybe, your "ghosting" is something different to me.
lars_brorson_fich
Thank you all for your answers. To Charles - here is an exampel of what I mean by "ghosting". to be honest I dont use a lens hood. I am not sure if that might be the problem because it seems to emrege in all kind of diferent lightkonditions. Re. Lars
