I'm shooting a wedding in Glastonbury, Ct in Oct. and would like to know if anyone has any ideasfor locations for the family portraits before the wedding. We can't go to the country club early because there isa wedding before the one I'm shooting. I don't know Glastonbury that well. Thanks!

mark_englehart
within 20 minutes or so would be ideal. Thank you.
bob_osullivan
There's 3 state parks in the area Hurd, Gillette Castle and Selden Neck State Park. Wedding photography is banned at Gillette according to the administrator. The other two may be ok. But they'll require a $500 permit and the process can take a month. All should have river views, I've only been to Gillette and it's very nice (too bad about the no weddings rule). There's also Devils hopyard waterfall but it' could be difficult getting down to it in a wedding gown.
roger_smith4
There are various places where you can walk along the CT river, including right below Gillette castle. If you want Hartford as a backdrop there is a park along the river bank on the E. Hartford side. Elizabeth Park in W. Hartford has nice rose gardens and a lot of weddings are shot there. What about doing some environmental portraiture where they live?
