mario_henriquez
How are these sold? Are they sold depending on the specific equipment one has or one has to simply get one where the equipment fits? I'm in the market for one. Just in case, my setup is: Bogen-Manfrotto 486RC2 Compact Ball Head http://www.amazon.com/Bogen-Manfrotto-486RC2-Compact-Connect-System/dp/B00009R6MQ/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1219183255&sr=8-1 Bogen/Manfrotto 190MF3 Mag Carbon Fiber 3-SectionTripod http://www.amazon.com/Bogen-Manfrotto-190MF3-3-Section-MagFiber-without/dp/B0007WTAX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1219183161&sr=8-1 Thanks. Matt Laur
I use that same ballhead on a slightly larger Manfrotto tripod (from the 055 series). I've very happy with the Think Tank Big Bazooka. This is NOT a hard case, it's a padded tube-type construction. You can sling it over your shoulder, or rig it to a pack a few different ways. I'm quite happy with everything I've ever purchased from Think Tank - excellent materials, design, and workmanship.
bennett_richards
I LOVE my Big Bazooka. Works well with my Gitzo 3540LS. GREAT case.
manut
Matt/Bennett, "This is NOT a hard case, it's a padded tube-type construction". Some questions as I am thinking over these ones and both of you have used it. 1) Even if it is padded (I guess hard padded) Is it rigid enough to handle airport transport as checked in luggage. 2) Is it allowed as cabin baggage. I have a Slik 700dx with a cullman 25 Nm ballhead. Thanks Manu
m._howard_edwards
I read on Photo.net that one photographer picked up a bag at his local big box store, and they threw in a folding chair for free. I tried it at my local drugstore, and sure enough $9.95, and I got a free chair. I have been using the same bag successfully for about four years. I have not used the chair though. manut
What kind of bag, something like Think tank Bazooka or a simple one.
mario_henriquez
So, is there one case that one can use for regular "city/everyday use" (soft, like the Think Tank mentioned above) AND for traveling (hard, that protects the tripod with the luggage when flying), or do people have TWO cases depending on when/where it's used? The ThinkTank looks good, but it's not for travelling. Thanks.
