justin_ngo
I'm thinking about ordering an used 24-85mm 2.4-4.0 ( the used price is very reasonable now) since I read quitemany good reviews that it is very sharp and nice lens for portraits and macro.Could anyone give me some aperture datas at the focal lengths of 35mm, 50mm, 60mm and 70mm ? I appreciate greatly your time and inputs.
kohanmike
I have one, purchased new from Adorama, $550 US. I think it's a terrific lens, the 1:2 macro makes it very versatile. I have not looked at the apertures at any specific focal length, I figure it is what it is, and if I have to increase the ISO, so be it. I use a D70s now and ISO 800 is very acceptable to me, but I am looking forward to replacing it with a D300 for improvement.

daniel rufer
The apertures are:
- 35mm: f/3.2 - f/25
- 50mm: f/3.5 - f/29
- 60mm: f/3.8 - f/32
- 70mm: f/4 - f/32 (identical to 85mm... not exactly sure why.)
This is really a nice little and very versatile lens. It is one of my primary "travel" lenses. Have fun with it!
