50mm/ 1.2L or 1.4?

All 3 lenses are VERY close in sharpness but MTF tests on <a

href="http://review.fengniao.com/98/982150.html">this</a> chinese website puts the Sigma a hair ahead in some

instances... but it doesn't have f/1.2, nor a red ring on the front that some think is important.<br><br>

 

I'm having issues with the Sigma 50/1.4 back focusing on my 5D, but only when it focuses beyond 10'. I wouldn't

normally comment as this can occur with sample variation and is usually fixed with calibration, but I've already

sent it to be checked out.<br><br>

 

I have tested this lens on a 40D and it has no focusing issues, I went to the service centre today and tested

another copy, which performed identically, that is, perfectly until you try and focus beyond 10', then it back

focuses at least 30cm. The boss there tried a few shots on my body and observed the same with both copies, he's

testing one on a 1DsII

tonight and getting back to me. There is a thread in the alternate lenses section of FredMiranda on this topic.

I've yet to see a properly focused shot focused beyond 10' on full frame with this lens... anywhere.
