tallaght_spur Posted July 15, 2008 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Hi guys,ive decided to scan all my negs, only a couple of hundred (all b/w), using my epson 4990 flatbed. But im getting a blank black screen when i preview the scan. I am in professional mode, with file type being b/w negative and a 2400dpi. I also have the white back board removed and thumnail deselcted?Please if anyone can help it would be great as im keen to get these scans started.Thanks a million Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On my Epson 4490 there is a small cord with a socket on the back of the top unit that has to be plugged into the base. It powers the light on the transparency unit. marc_bergman1 Posted July 15, 2008 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Can you see that the light is on when you do the scan? I would suggest holding the transparency unit open while you do a scan.
