andre_bosmans
Is there a difference in features and quality (used on D300) between these two lenses?
dmitry_kiyatkin
I think for flash photography, the D version is better. If you never use flash, I think IQ is in theory the same. Dmitry
greytata a.nogueira
As per Nikon literature: " D-type and G-type NIKKOR lenses relay subject-to-camera distance information to AF Nikon camera bodies. This then makes possible advances like 3D Matrix Metering and 3D Multi-Sensor Balanced Fill-Flash. " Hope this helps. Owning a D300, I would go for the D. jose_angel
Both lenses looks to have exactly the same optics. The "D" version let you to take advantage of the focus distance information, which is relevant for the D300 3D matrix metering system. Notice that there are two AF non-D versions, the first one doesn`t have the rubberized manual focus ring.
