cenelsonfoto
Note me as another satisfied customer of Dean Jones, the Australian camera-hacker and innovator.
Late last year, while tooling around a Tulsa flea-market with my pal Bruce Appel, I stumbled upon a nice Polaroid110B and purchased it. After making contact with Dean Jones, I forwarded both camera and down payment to Mr.Jones. In March 2008, I received my IRS refund and completed the transaction with Dean, who set about convertingmy camera. Yesterday, June 23rd, my Razzle was received at the post office, and a quick shot put past the Fujinon150/6.3 lens.
In a word: Bliss.
Dean Jones is highly regarded, and I recommend him to any seeking an alternative to the much more expensiveoptions out there for RF-focused 4x5 cameras and conversions.
Model: Buffie Brooke
EV/Film: 1/30" @ F8, Fujifilm FP-100C45
brucecahn
Will you supply more info about the camera? How do you reach Mr. Jones? Is the camera as easy to focus as a Littman? Any Problems? How much did it cost?
cenelsonfoto
Dean Jones is the source for a Razzle or other Polaroid conversions. Pricing? Ask him. His waiting list is long, so be prepared for a wait.
As for the comparison to a Littman conversion, I've no idea. The Razzle is a breeze to focus using the original focus-mechanism and RF unit. Simple as pie. Really.
Craig
christoph_hammann
It's funny/sad that the first piece of film you put through your converted-to-4x5 Polaroid camera was a piece of *Fuji* instant film!
Best regards, have fun with the Razzle, Christoph
DEGREEFOTO
I've had my Razzle now for over a year. I did some research as to what was available at the time and did look at the Littman. Although not having used a RF before in any format, I found my Razzle to be very user friendly. What appealed to me was the portability and the fact that I can use different film formats as well as hand hold this 4x5 rig. Dean has moved down the road now and has added a few different models to his range. IMHO I am pleased to have purchased one of his revamped 110b and enjoy taking it out into the country side as its weight is a big factor for me. Well worth the wait, now that his has so many orders and the workmanship is 2nd to none. Artur
