sara_peterson1
looking to buy an Epson 3800 tomorrow...not sure which edition to get...I shoot mostly portraits with a combo of digital images and medium and large format film... Moving up from a 2200. Do I spend the extra $200 for the Pro (give and take a few bucks) or do I stick with the Standard edition?? Any advice is welcome...Thanks!sara peterson.... don_bryant2
Save your money and get the standard edition.
patricklavoie
standard...its pro enough : ) buy yourself a nice calibration device to see on screen the color you gonna print..before you print it.
colin_mattson1
Standard. Even if you want ColorBurst RIP, the version you get in the Pro bundle is missing a whole bunch of features.
jo_irps
Even if it is a watered down Pro bundle, does it still come with its own print driver? What I am after is to make longer prints, i.e. panoramas, than the Epson build in driver allows, which is 37".
patricklavoie
than you need a rip.
charlesheckel
You need to check the features of the Colorburst RIP online at epson.com--the one they are supplying you with, not the full version. You should be able to download a PDF with full details, and they should evidently be shouting it from the rooftops if it prints bigger than 37". If they aren't, I wouldn't bother--but you might still want to email them and ask.
