rainer_t
-- "A new metal mounting foot with redesigned connection pins provides ultra-stable communication between the camera and flash" Interesting that they find this worth mentioning ... but yes, my 430ex goes occasionally into TTL (rather than ETTL) more which is due to a "less than ultra-stable communication" ... contact cleaning helps. a_s32
Do you think the price will go down on the 430EX?
stillbound
discontinued they don't ever keep two flashes at same time - while supplies last I assume they will drop a tiny bit but you can assume canon will not deliver large quantities to retailers while the old flash is still around...that has been policy for as long as i can recall ex the xti's have been moving out of stock and not replaced and then we get this announcement. The new 430 comes right after the rebates and canon moving tons of old 430's out this last month...
