GAWDDD I hate what this site does when you try to make a list without writing HTML.

Here's the kicker on this program $100 off the K20D or K200D and the rebate on the lenses, flashes and grips require them to be purchased on the same receipt as the camera body. No rebate on lens, flashes or grips purchased alone.

Rebates must be nice. Awfully bloody nice. Pentax Canada never offers rebates on this side of the border. That really pisses me off. Even with the Canadian and U.S. dollar at parody - a Pentax body, flash, and most lenses cost more on this side of the border. It doesn't seem fair. Most Canon and Nikon systems are priced identically on both sides of the border. It's no freakin wonder that I have to go to the local camera shop and order accessories without having seen them in advance. Pentax Canada needs to get its crap together. That's my rant for today. The K100D Super still rocks! Cheers.

I'll take over the rant Duanne, What are the odds you'll be able to get a K20D and 16-50mm and 50-135mm at once on (((ONE))) receipt?

As usual B&H is out of stock of the pentax lenses which are now on rebate.

Last rebate offer before Hoya Bought out pentax corp all three lenses I wanted to buy but did not buy remained "OUT OF STOCK" until rebate ended.

Nice to see Hoya has offered their first rebate.

The Hoops one must jump through, LIKE BUYING everything ON ONE RECEIPT is SILLY!

Here's B&H today:

Canon makes getting $300 off INSTANTLY so Simple & Easy. Too bad Hoya's first offer requires the confluence of items bought at once to qualify. Or I should say, Thanks Hoya Pentax HD for making my next purchase: Canon 5D backup for Canon 5D, an easy choice.

Duane,

You can get from Henry K20D at CAN$1099 which is as good as we can get with 1 more year of Can warranty. It is not as bad as it was definitely

Not sure I completely buy into the things are more expensive in Canada argument. I ordered all three of my FA limited lenses the 43, 31 and 77mm from prodigital2000 in Stratford Ontario. They by far had the best prices on all of them as in between $100 to $300 less than I could find them in the US. So it's not all more expensive up there. :)

did anyone notice that the Limiteds are no longer rebated? Pentax wasn't kidding when they said that they weren't selling their lenses on the cheap anymore. I mean if the limiteds are the cream of the crop, rebates seem a bit like putting a Ferrari on discount the second it's made.

rebates are a bonus...my philosophy if you cannot afford or do not want to pay the price as listed, don't buy it. it's a game anyway. and the whole thing is designed to deny you. nothing wrong with that either.

btw, cars offer rebates as well. It's annoying. You go in, you tell them your lifes story and then they punch it all in the computer and see what you qualify for. Just give me the bottom line price when I walk in the door. however, rebates make sense. By not lowering the MSRP, your gear has more resale value, as does your car. If they made a 20,000 car a 15,000 car sticker price you'd lower resale value. If you give $5000 in rebates everyone wins. Same thing with camera gear even in the digital age.

I know that sounds harsh but rebates aren't guaranteed, so if they don't come it shouldn't be a big deal, or if you can't get them it shouldn't be either.

As far as Duanes rant...I love our friends to the north. The US and Canada shared the largest unprotected (pre 9/11) border in the world...but when it comes to rebates and pricing suck it up, it's the price of free health care, and peaceful society. next you'll be complaining you didn't get your $600 tax rebate (aka. economic stimulus check) from the US. It's bad enough we you use our GPS system and our military, now you want our rebates??

Keep in mind, it's worse for US citizens visiting canada. Now a beer cost me $7 US. HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO IT!!! You guys are taxed to death. I used to drive to Canada and save a ton while shopping and dining. It was like playing with monopoly money at the casino's. I miss the Canadian Peso, I truly do.

I guess it's OK for Canadians, when you subtract the $5000 in insurance premiums (dental, medical, vision) I pay a year for my wife and I (that just gets me to the doctor, I still pay for the treatment with co-pays and deductibles) you can definitely tax people to happiness.

Well thats my rant...who's next?

(btw, for those with less of a sense of humor than others, I am just joking around for the most part. and yes, I know Canada's currency isn't the Peso, I once had a Canadian give me a lecture on this, thus, I must issue this disclaimer or I will risk another lecture which would cause me to find a Canon L and bash myself in the head till I was comatose)
