mohir_ali
The batteries died in my M7 a couplr of weeks ago and I have yet to find replacements in Doha, so I have to use my M6. It's definitly slower than the M7. I don't think I ever used meter manual with the M7. I'm sooo ashamed. 8>{
hunghang
I don't think that anyone would feel sorry for someone who "has to resort" to an M6 from their M7 ! Seriously, I don't think that it will take you long to re-adjust to manual shooting.
mohir_ali
I decided to exercise my 50, from my 'normal' 35 this weekend (Fri/Sat here) and the 1.25X mag. doesn't fit into the M6's eyepiece. Did something fall out? I see threads, but the diameter of the eyepiece is larger my a couple of mm. Why?
john_shriver
Perhaps you unscrewed the permanent eyepiece of the M7 along with the 1.25X magnifier?
carbon_dragon
It happens to all of us. I put it in AP and keep an eye on the exposure to make sure the shutter speed isn't going somewhere I don't want to go, but I generally let the camera decide. That said, it's a good exercise for you. jose_angel
For that reason I love the M6. Slower, but it always work, with or without batteries.
ralph_jensen
Don't forget that for a lot of readers of this forum, an M6 gives you a lot more exposure help than they ever get from their earlier M's!

You should easily be able to find those in Doha. I was last in Doha in 1978. I expect the city has changed a little since then. ;-)
mohir_ali
Thanks Tony. No, the eyepieces on the M6 and M7 are different.
raymond_tai
I find the AE in the M7 extremely useful. I feel I had gotten shots otherwise would have missed if I had used another second to fiddle about with exposure on an M6. For unmetered bodies like the M4 I tend not to worry too much about exposure and just guess.
