michal_sofer
hello to everybody, is it possible to place the eos mount from 1D mk1 instead current mount on my 5D, the 1D mount fits to my lenses much better. Thanx for answers
photo_dark
wouldn't it be easier to sell the 5D and the Mk1, save up a bit more cash and just buy a 1DmkIII?
bobatkins
Should be no different. Maybe your 5D mount is just worn and needs replacing (though you'd have to change lenses for every shot to wear out the mount before the shutter)
j_smith6
It sometimes happens that lenses feel "loose". It's ok if you can move them a little bit in the direction of focusing ring. If it really is that annoying ask canon to replace it for you for the one that fits your lenses perfectly. On the other hand some people have too tight mounts and can't take off the new lens! michael.gregory
Michael, If it aint broke, don't fix it. Broke means that the "loose" mount is affecting the quality of your images. If it is broke, send it back to Canon and they will fix it.
sam c
I agree with Michael, if it's not affecting your images don't mess with it. If it is, let the experts take care of it.
les_baldwin1
Occasionaly the mount itself needs calibration and tightening. It can be done by a local technician or best if sent into Canon. But do not try to remove or repair your self. They often get loose when useing large glass.
