stuartwilliams
Hi all Recently did this pic. My first portrait session with new equipment. Thanks
jeremy_podolski
I think the pose is effective. Watch the shadows under the eyebrow and brim - looks like you're very close to losing detail. It appears, however, that your subject is not in focus.
tmcleland
Hi Stuart, I like the pose and the expression. The contrast is good, though it looks like either you or the subject moved slightly during the exposure.
barry_kenstler1
I like it too. Though you may have intended it to be full of dark mystery, I prefer it lightened and perked up a bit via a minor adjustment in Photoshop curves and levels.<div></div>
mike_earussi1
Composition is good but technically it's poor, way too dark and not sharp enough. Check the focus of your lens, or if you're using a cheap lens zoom you might want to get either a fixed lens or a better zoom.
jo_dinning
I don't think that the focus is wrong - I've had a good look at it and actually it looks like there's some movement so the shutter hasn't been fast enough for the type of lighting and/or lens length. Like Barry, I prefer the shot to be a little less 'flat' - you could get a bit more from the highlights - but that's a personal opinion. Don't buy new kit - just improve your technique and vision for how you want the final print to look.
jc5066
The eyes are soft. I'm a sharp eye's fanatic. It ruins the pic for me.
mrstubbs
I think it's great shot. The light is a bit flat...but that's a taste issue..a little push in the highlight and increase contrast maybe. After that, just some sharpening. I wouldn't sharpen it this much for a print...only for the web. :~) Good work!<div></div>
thomas_hardy1
I saw this a couple of days ago and thought it needed a bit more contrast and sharpening. I think Anthony's tweak did it.
jonathan_edwards2
I like your original picture, for its darkness, etc. I like the tweak as well its just a different take.
AliBM
I like Stubbs's edition and the Pose . but there is some problem on focus!<BR> I think it could be better if the focus point were on his eye's
savagesax
Nice adjustment Anthony. The origanil looks a tiny bit soft to me.
