colinsouthern
Just wondering if any fellow 1D3 users have struck this ... Switched on camera this morning prior to a shoot, and got an "Error 06" (sensor cleaning unit malfunction). I switched the camera off (and heard either the mirror drop or shutter close - or both) - switched it back on again - and everything was back to normal. It's done this twice tday. It's never done it prior to upgrading from 1.1.3 to 1.2.3 - just wondering if anyone else has struck this? I should clarify that this is the normal power on or power off sensor cleaning, not the manually initiated one, not the manual sensor cleaning procedure - what's peaked my interest in particular is the sound of mirror dropping/shutter closing as if (for some reason) the shutter was already open. chrisjb
Oh no, not another bug in 1d3..try Mortein :) I`d reinstall the FW or go back one and ring canon if it persist..regards
Spearhead
I've been using the new firmware and have turned the camera off and on at least 20 times and shot around 6gig, no problems at all. Might be a faulty download, you should try downloading again, then reinstalling. Just reinstalling may give you the same problem if there is something wrong with the download. colinsouthern
Thanks for the comments. Will have to see what happens. Re-installing would be a waste of time - the chances of a dud download co-incidentally passing the CRC check are practically non-existant. If it is a bug I'd expect others to see it - if they don't then it's probably a camera fault. Cheers, Colin
