40 D Maximum Burst

I just got a 40D and have been running through the manual to make sure I

understand the camera and its features.

 

I have come across one thing that I can not figure out. The maximum burst

indicated in the view finder is always 6 frames even when the drive is set on

the H. I have tried changing lots of settings such as ISO, WB, aperture ect. I

have also tried different subjects. The fact that it always says 6 makes me feel

that it is a setting somewhere. I am using a Sandisk Extreme III CF card.

 

This is not a huge issue because I will seldom use the fast drive because I

don?t shoot sports but I would like to know what I am doing wrong.

Try disabling hi ISO noise reduction, it's a custom function.

 

This should get you a 14 frame burst.

That was exactly what was wrong. Now it has a max burst of 75. I think it will take a long time to get used to all of the features of this camera.

I was playing with mine and had the same problem, I thought it was broken because I couldn't find anywhere in the manual that helped, I thought 6 frames cannot be right. Fixed it though. Cannot remember how I realised about the high ISO but I did and it fixed it.

Well, it is WRITTEN in the manual,

I've read it already, how come you people said can't find it in the manual ? RTFM carefully ...
