jeff_keplinger
I have a chance to buy a mint Canon 5D with all the accessories for $1100locally. Haven't seen it yet, but price sounds too good to be true. I am a Nikonuser but at that price I would consider making the move. What should I look forwhen checking out the camera? eigtball
If its local, take a lens or two and check it out. Check all the features out, check the actuations and all that. It's not that much of a stretch for that price.
baivab
Hope it's not online, through a shop @ Broklyn, NY. They are mostly scam.
jcolwell
Great price. You should check the exposure meter and meter modes (evaluative, centre and spot, EV compensation), shooting modes (Av, Tv, M, etc.), autofocus operation and AF point selection, sensor condition, flash shoe & flash operation (FEC), DOF preview button, viewfinder diopter adjustment, menu entries and controls (speed dial, set button, etc.). If possible, you should try to borrow it for an evening or so, along with the manual, a Canon EF lens, and an EX flash. Go through the manual and try out everything. Great way to learn about the camera; both how it should work and how it actually does work. Check for front/back focus, and look carefully for signs of water damage and being dropped. bob_osullivan
At that price the sutter is probalby all but used up. A new shutter replacement from Canon should run about $300, still not a bad deal though.
