andrey_kulpine
Dear colleagues,I am planing to purchase a Rollei and I wonder if there is a chance of mounting a DB (p25 or Leaf Aptus series). Have read the thread about Rollei's plans about providing support to various MF DB systemshttp://www.captureintegration.com/2008/01/31/phase-one-comes-to-the-rolleiflex/But this link is the only info I've got. Is there a way to mount the above mentioned back (native or third-party solutions, or maybe just a rollei-> hassy V adapter)? And does anybody know any Rollei dealers in Europe (best-in UK) to ask a few questions?
kipling
Start searching here:
http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?showforum=16
There's a few people who use the Rollei with DB's there.
The p25 and p45 backs will work with the Rolleiflex as well as Sinar DB's.
Here's a list (http://www.phaseone.com) of Phase dealers in the UK where you can get all the info you need:
The Flash Centre, London
68 The Brunswick Centre
Marchmont Street
WC1N 1AE London
United Kingdom
Phone +44 020- 7812- 0064
Web www.theflashcentre.com Fax +44 20 7833 4882
E-mail david-garvin@theflashcentre.co.uk
Contact David Garvin
Teamwork Digital Ltd.
Address 41-42 Foley Street
W1W 7JN London
Phone +44 207 323 6455
Web www.teamworkphoto.com
Fax +44 207 436 5212
E-mail lawrence@teamworkphoto.com
Contact Lawrence Wiles
The Flash Centre, Leeds
Address Unit 7 Scala Court
Leathley Road
LS10 1JD LEEDS
Phone +44 11 3247 0937
Web www.theflashcentre.com
Fax +44 11 3247 0038
E-mail graham@theflashcentre.co.uk
Contact Graham Fox
Direct Digital Imaging DDI - UK Ltd.
Address 9 Whinbrook Gardens
LS17 6AE Leeds
United Kingdom
Phone +44 7950 3685 54
Web www.directdigitalimaging.com
Fax +44 113 2370 563
E-mail chris@directdigitalimaging.co.uk
Contact Chris Ireland
Company DTEK Systems Ltd.
Address Parkside, Spencers Wood
Basingstoke Road
RG7 1AE Reading, Berkshire
United Kingdom
Phone +44 118 988 2020
Web www.dtek.co.uk
Fax +44 118 988 0636
E-mail sales@dtek.co.uk
Contact Brian Tinsen
Company The Flash Centre - Birmingham
Address 2 Mount ST Business Centre
Mount Street
B7 5RD Birminghamv United Kingdom
Phone +44 0()79 6191 9116
Web www.theflashcentre.com
E-mail kevin.treadwell@virgin.net
Contact Kevin Treadwell
Company Icam Archive Systems Ltd.
Address Blisworth Hill Barns
Stoke Road
NN7 3DB Blisworth, Northamtonshire
United Kingdom
Phone +44 16 0485 9700
Web www.icamarchive.co.uk
Fax +44 16 0485 9563
E-mail sales@icamarchive.co.uk
Contact Andy Hawkins
Company Keyphoto Ltd
Address 156 St Albans Road
AL4 9LP St Albans
United Kingdom
Phone +44 (0)1727 860400
Web www.keyphoto.com
Fax +44 (0)1727 850998
E-mail service@keyphoto.com
Contact Axel Flaig
Good luck
stuart_richardson
Robert White is a well-regarded Rollei dealer in the UK. Sinar makes Rollei-native digital backs, so you might want to look in that direction.
erichiss
You can mount Sinar backs with an adapter, Hasselblad/Imacon CF backs with their adapter, or a phase back with a RolleiMetric adapter. All except the Phase backs can be bought second hand and fit to any camera. The Phase backs must be purchased new to be configured for the Rollei mount unless you are lucky enough to find one already done secondhand. I've corresponded with Lance Schad at the CaptureIntegration link you provided and am considering upgrading my P20 to a P45+ at some point. He's been extremely helpful so far and is the only one that seems to know how to get this done.
graham_mitchell
If you get a Sinarback then you can get a Hy6 adapter for it and use the same back on the Sinar Hy6 camera (which takes the same lenses as the 6008). Seems like a sensible path to me.
david_schwartz6
Another vote for Robert White. IMHO he is the beat dealer in the UK period -- used him for all my purchases for a decade while I was in London.
chris_zebrowski
I'd suggest going for a CF / older Imacon back rather than Sinar. Sinar = expensive, sinar = not as popular as CF. You can get a used CF back for 1/4 of the price. You sure have some feedback and help with CF backs and with Sinar you'd have to rely on Sinar and only Sinar (however I don't know anything about their customer service- maybe you can rely on them..) http://www.hasselbladusa.com/media/133781/uk_cf_datasheet_v2.pdf I wonder what's the mysterious "Rollei AF adapter" mentioned in the diagram. It's NOT hasselblad's I-adapter I guess. Does anyone know what's the adapter from the bottom connectivity diagram?
wim_van_velzen
Hi Chris,
I am quite sure it is a I-adapter with some contacts added that give the same information as the cable does with the 6008i cameras. Which is great, because one can still use the electronic release cable, which you cannot with a 6008i because the cable uses the plug.
Wim
chris_zebrowski
I'll inquire for information concerning this adapter and let you all know. To be honest I just figured it out lately that there exists a different adapter than I-adapter which makes high-end CF backs work with Rollei. andrey_kulpine
Thank you very much for your information. As for Hasselblad adapter - I don't know if it is a i-adapter or not but it is certainly similar and is attached by the same 4 screws. There is no EXIF recorded and it uses an electronic cable release...
