vuk_vuksanovic
guys.<br><br>the picture i have in mind features a young, fashionably-dressed woman eating asausage or hot-dog, standing inside a dark little diner/bar while a fat, germancook stares at her from behind the counter. i hope i got this right or i'll bein for some teasing if it turns out my dirty mind has fabricated a few things. anyhow, the help would be appreciated. cheers!<br><br><br><br>with helmut and getting ready for spring/girls on my mind, here is a pentax snapfrom earlier today...<br><br><img src='http://vukfoto.com/misc/IMGP1871-01_tribute_700.jpg'>
miserere_mei
I cannot help you out, but I appreciate seeing Catherine Deneuve in your shot :-)
roseberry guitars
Forget Katie! The oldies in your camera collection will catch the girls eye. Love the Autocord and Zorkie. Sorry, I haven't seen the photo you are talking about but sounds interesting.
a few images
Ask Benjamin Kanarek - His images are being shown along with Helumt Newton and he's a good study so, I think he'd know the shot instantly. He has an account here so you can e-mail him, or, you can PM him on pentaxforums.com
rose_duclos
Awesome picture! LOVE the cameras. :) Is that a Voigtlander Bessa? Such a pretty camera. :)
vuk_vuksanovic
tom. i have emailed benjamin and will await a reply. rose. the camera is a bessa L. my original intent was merely to purchase the 28mm skopar (mounted on it in pic) to use on my leica m6, but then i noticed the L bodies cost less than a leica rear lens cap, yet could hold, film, take pictures, etc.
rose_duclos
Vuk, I've read some good reports on the bessa - I've begun eyeing a few of the Bessa R models on e_bay recently - but I'm now considering the Contax iiia instead. Yes, the skopar lenses "ROCK" :) I have the 35mm and 50mm that came as part of my Vitessa T package. (Or it could just be that I love the old German gear...) If you've taken pictures with the Bessa L and posted them somewhere - let me know - I'd love to see how that 28mm photographs. :)
vuk_vuksanovic
rose. <br><br> you've just reminded me to develop some film that's been lying around for a year! in the meantime, this is all i can offer: <br><br> <a href="http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015610.htm">http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015610.htm</a> <br><br> <a href="http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015612.htm">http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015612.htm</a> <br><br> <a href="http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015634.htm">http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015634.htm</a> <br><br> <a href="http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015627.htm">http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015627.htm</a> <br><br> <a href="http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015841.htm">http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g09/BW015841.htm</a> <br><br> consolidated here:<br> <a href="http://vukfoto.com/28mm.htm">http://vukfoto.com/28mm.htm</a>
rose_duclos
Very nice! I wish that there is a skopar 28 made for the Vitessa - but, I may have to pick another camera system to use this lens... (I guess this means I should reconsider those Bessa's.) :)
vuk_vuksanovic
rose. i would actually advise a second-hand leica body. the bessas are pretty shoddy by comparison.
rose_duclos
I don't know if I'm good enough for a leica. I'm an amateur. I would love one - but, I don't feel worthy. I've checked out the prices of the M3 bodies (in my moments of wishful thinking) - and I can afford it - but the lens prices are scary...
vuk_vuksanovic
rose. <br><br> i admire your attitude and have been know to have a go at collector/fondler type who definitely are not worthy. <br><br> the strategy is to get a leica body, but put voightlander lenses on it until OR if you feel the need to switch over. i often use a jupiter 8 (50mm) on my m6 and that came on the zorki for $25. one of the sharpest lenses i have used... <br><br> <img src="http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g01/BW004902-diner.jpg"> <br><br> <br><br> even within leica there are deals on glass that the idiots devalue because it was made in canada or came with the CL, etc. keep an eye out for the 40mm summicron and 90mm tele-elmarit. the fondlers/collectors all hate the tele-elmarit and they have the numbers/theories to prove it but i have stuff like this to show: <br><br> <img src="http://www.qstatistic.com/foto/g03/BW004505-dayna.jpg">
rose_duclos
I've heard that it's hard to thread the film in leicas - is it just the older models - or all of them?
vuk_vuksanovic
rose. i only have direct experience with an M6 and there is no issue/difficulty with it. you may want to ask on the leica forum about things like an M2 and M3.
rose_duclos
It may not be this month - but I seem to be convincing myself now to get the M6... goodness only knows when I'll be able to afford glass for it though... :) I saw a really well written review of the two m6 versions - and, a whole bunch of pictures attached... and, it's only double what the m-3 would have cost - so, if I add that to the equation... the M6 might be the better route to take. I'll take your advice on the Voigtlander glass, and Jupiter too. ... being an amateur still... maybe I'll grow into the camera as I use it ... I like wide lenses... if only a 28mm would show up on ebay - reasonably priced...
