photobycate
I am reeeeeealy new at editing my photos other than color correction, saturation and balance. I'd like to know how to change the background of a photo to black or white so the subject stands out as if floating in air. How is this done? Do I do this in layering and if so can someone translate the directions to an understandable paragraph? Thanking you all in advance for your help and advice. glenbarrington
I would suggest that you buy Scott Kelby's book on PSE. It's well organized to answer questions just like that. It walks you thru the process step by step and with photos, screen dumps, etc. You don't really need the one for V6, if you can find one on V5, that'll be close enough. I'm using the one for V3 with V5.
ralph_jensen
There's also lots of good information (though I don't know about your specific query) at http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/
