doug grosjean
Nice job, Gene. Always fun to see what you've shot on cameras that most serious photogs would laugh at. Meant as a compliment, just in case it wasn't obvious.
Guest
I take everything as a compliment. It's idiotic. But it makes me happy.
mfophotos
Great writing once again, Gene. You make me laugh. The Spartus should be crowned the most Holga-esque of 35s. Oh, I like the photos, too. :)
craig_supplee
Great shots Gene. I had to laugh about you hating the clowns. I brought back a ceramic clown mask from Germany one year for my youngest daughter, and she couldn't go to sleep until we removed it from her room. She hates clowns. Sorry if any of you moonlight as a clown. I remember seeing the original pics of the abandonded house. I would love to know what that is all about. Looks like a really (or could be) nice place. rustys pics
Gene, your "history of the Sparta 35" had me in stitches. You know, I think the "Dad" in the first picture looks an awful lot like Liberace..... I think "Mom" had a little sumthin goin' with her hairdresser. Perhaps Dad ran off and joined the circus to become a drunk clown after he found out.
johnw436
LOL @ Russ! Gene, the commentary is getting very good. Been listening to lots of comedy lately or is this simply the real Gene coming out? You're a lot funnier than Hulk Hogan ever thought of being. Matthew Currie
Ii take it the drugs are responsible for the somewhat hazy look to those photos. I mean, it couldn't be anything to do with that sharp looking camera, could it?
minhnguyen9113
The story behind the Spartus 35 is disclosed today by Gene. If it was when the camera just came out we might have a best seller camera " The Spartus..."

john_robison3
Great stuff Gene, although I'd kill for that shirt and sweater the dad is wearing. Looking at the picture closer, the dad looks like that actor William Campbell. (note to myself; don't be sipping coffee when I open your posts, it always gets sprayed on the screen)

tonystokes
Great story. I have one of those although mine appears a little different and I don't have the box. I checked out some of your fishing photos, I too love those smallies. Thanks!
sitemistic
Great stuff, Gene. As an aside, I recently read some research (why would anyone research such stuff? Or read it!) that shows that children do not like clowns and are frightened by them. Adults generally think their kids SHOULD like clowns, so expose them to fear and loathing at every opportunity. Keep the show and tells coming!
