xelaglen
I bought a used 67 on Ebay and the TTL metering prism doesn't work, though the camera itself takes great pictures. I'm new to this system so how do I check the battery to see if it's dead? Is the light supposed to be red? Also, does anyone know some common problems with this accessory? Much Thanks. edomazlicky
Take the lens off the camera- then take off the prism and remount it. Then put the lens back on. Usually that fixes the problem with the TTL prism. If not your prism has a problem because the battery check light is supposed to be red if the battery is good. xelaglen
I'll be damned, it worked! Now if I could just figure out why it keeps wiggling around, won't seat fully. Maybe the foam seals need replacing? Glen
dougmiles
The meter runs off the same 6v battery that powers the electronically-regulated shutter, and indeed the cheery red glow of the battery check LED signifies all is well. The prism should fit snuggly with only a small amount of give. If it bounces up and down and rattles around (as one of mine did not long ago) then it needs new foam. rothelle
New foam will do the trick. It did it for my Pentax 67. I also picked up a 67 with a prism on ebay for a $100. All I needed was new foam and my local camera shop gave me more then what I need, if you new some just email me. Other than that you are going to love this camera. I know I do.:-)))))<div></div>
xelaglen
Thanks to everyone for the excellent advice. I would love to get some foam from you as there is only 1 decent repair shop in this town and they're always extremely busy. How can we connect so that I could obtain a small amount from you?
