drew_back
These were taken last night with kodak 400 b&w c41 film..Exposure was 6.3 at 100 Doing portraits with these old cameras is a challenge thank god for computer cropping to get them somewhat centered..I know they are not professional but not to bad for an 80 year old camera, 1 small studio light, and a bitchy wife (are you done yet!!!!!!) jim nichols
Very nice details for an old lens. I especially can appreciate the first one. My wife's Dad was a professional photographer, and she has no patience with my informal portrait attempts. There is such a thing as too much "exposure" to photography. HarryBaker
As you say, not bad for an 80 year old camera. I get the same reaction from my wife who accuses me of checking the resolution of my lenses on her eye wrinkles!
jtdnyc
The great thing about that 80-year-old camera is that you've "updated the sensor" every time you stick a roll of the latest film in it! Nice pix.
sw12dz
Nice shots, Drew. Your wife does not look like a happy camper! I've found in situations such as that, "tis better to put the camera away, and live to shoot another day". :)
paul_neuthaler
Nice, Drew. I'm waiting for my "new" 1A from gokevincameras. Are you cutting the film leader by hand or using Ablon or generic equivalent?
drew_back
I cut the leader by hand it seems to work out ok so far thank you all for the good coments I think that old lense is quite sharp..
john carter
I like #2. Amazing what an old Leica can do. I gave up on wife models years ago. They were never into it, and were always thinking about what they are going to do soon as I was done.
paul_taylor2
Drew: You caught the first picture just as Karsh did when he photographed Sir Winston Churchill. Grabbed the cigar out of his mouth and, well, you remember the resulting picture. With all due respect to your wife, she, and my children, have put up with alot over the years.
