D1x Body Parts?

All, I have recently acquired a decent-condition Nikon D1x from Adorama (don't

laugh, I've had good luck with them before). It's missing the rubber cover on

the left side, just next to the autofocus switch. It's the cover that, well,

covers the Firewire port and whatever that other port is, neither of which I

will use.

 

I didn't think the absence of this cover would bother me, but it does. Anybody

know where I could get a new/used one to stick on there? Short of buying a

non-functioning body and cannibalizing it?

I just got off the phone with Nikon Parts department to order a part for my F5. Their number has changed from previous postings on photo.net (I called the old one twice). They are sending the part and actually didn't even charge me for it. Go figure. Their number is 310-414-8107. Good luck.

FWIW Brett, i sent my D1x to Nikon Melville N last spring for adjustments and clean, and the removed and replaced all the rubber on mine for minimal cost. I think all of it was replaced for around $75.00 USD. While they did't originally quiote this in the esimate for repair, i appreciated the new rubber on mine.
