bellelimn
Hi all, This is my first post. I want to start in wedding photography. The only area I still have concern in is the printing of the images after editing and such. I have done my sisters reception and my cousins wedding, but with their weddings I was able to just go to Wal-mart and print out pictures and get them cds. As a newbie I don't have the start up money to buy myself a great and wonderful photo printer. I have learned that a lot of people edit their images and then upload them to a site like iphotoshop.com (just as an example). I was wondering if this was a widely used practice and what, from your experience, have you found to be the best site in terms of time it takes to get the images back and quality of the printed photos. Also where do you get the wedding albums from...I've found tons of sites for those too, but I have no idea where to start. I am new, please be gentle. :) and thank you in advance. stephen_kinosh
I think you will find rhat most of the photographers that you will talk to do ont print their own images. I've used whoblinked.com and MIllers. I don't think that you can print as cheep as you can buy. Whoblinked will do 4X6's as cheap as .15 each. sam_ellis
There is a ton of information on this site if you search for it. There are lots of suggestions for new photographers just starting out, which labs to use, album companies, etc. Most will recommend that you work with someone for a while and learn the ropes. Weddings are fast-paced and one chance events. The more you can learn under someone the easier to get past some hurdles. Let us know where you are and someone might be looking for an assistant. I personally use and love Smugmug. They're not the highest quality lab out there, but they're not the most expensive either. You can get a power-user account for about $65 I think and a pro account for $150/year. You can use my email sam(at)samellis.com to get $5 off. Sign up and take them for a free test run and see if you like them. I don't think many people actually print their own pictures, it's more cost effective to upload them somewhere. There are lots of albums out there as well, but I like a simple Renaissance self-mount album for economy and Zookbinders for high quality flush mount albums. Good luck. kariann
I use MPIX.com. Love them. Have never had a problem with them. I think they are great quality and great prices. heather_claypool
Yep...Mpix is great! Good turnaround time and great customer service. They are a division of Miller's, but geared toward those of us who aren't doing 40 weddings per year (yet)!
steve_parrott
Another vote for MPix. In my opinion they blow everyone else out of the water when you consider all factors such as photo quality, price, speed, packaging, and customer support. http://www.parrottimaging.com
