ben__evans
I've foolishly mislaid the charger for my Panasonic LX1 and need to buy another. I've been rather tempted by offers on ebay for non oem batteries included with the charger. They're 1400mah though, compared to the standard 1150mah. I assume that they will work, since the LX1 is listed, but will they damage the camera? Thanks!
dave_l.
I've used an aftermarket LX1 battery as a backup with no problems. I'm not sure about the charger though.
jp_and_ap_the_glass_eye
Hello I don't mean to hijack your thread but this is along the same line. I have 5D and I need a second battery. I am considering a sterling tech battery and charger. As I understand it a number of laptop batteries have shorted out and caused fires. Could this be a danger for this type/configuration battery? I'd hate to lose my $3000 camera for a $25 savings. Thanx
ben__evans
Yes, that's my concern - however, I've reasoned that the batteries are that much smaller than for a laptop. Were it the same capacity, I'd get one immediately...
chris_accetta
I've been using an eb@y non-OEM battery in my Panasonic TZ-1 and stock charger for a year with no problems. The non-OEM $7 battery was lsited with a slightly higher mah rating but seems to lasts just as long as the OEM battery.
