kentigern
The little screw holding down the shutter speed dial on my MP has worked itself loose and is now lost. Therefore I cannot now set the shutter speed on the camera. I'm currently in Thailand, traveling around (Phuket at the moment). I assume any small screw will be able to replace the lost one, if I can find one from somewhere, but does it need to be a specific Leica-dimensioned screw? Thanks for your help. Doesn't MP stand for Mechanical Perfection by the way...
john sypal
I know it's not going to bring back your missing screw by saying this, but my MP periodically needed it's shutter dial screw tightened for a while, too. It has been fine for the last year though. Has this been an issue for other MP owners?
vick_ko
It is a standard metric thread (I can't remember what dimension). Don Goldberg can likely mail one out to you, wherever you are. Look at www.dagcamera.com and email him. He is very prompt. Also, try a watch shop. Vick
love4leica
Try any watch repair shop. I am sure they can fit in something that will work until you get home.

icuneko
Since you're in Thailand, buy some cooked sticky rice. The real sticky kind. Extract a grain or two. Glob it into the screwhole. Let dry. Voila-- repaired! ;)
marek_fogiel
David, your post is not politically correct. Leica MP does not lose screws, it costs too much to be able to permit itself such a lower class activity.
