des adams
Gerry thanks for the tip and link which I found. Seemed like a fairly unbiased review. The E3 is expensive right now and I don't really see how it stacks up against the the Canon 5D. David Bailey likes the E3 so it's got to be good huh? OCULUS New York
I bought two in November, but am still in the learning curve, given our crummy weather. But, collectively the few hundred frames seem to exceed my E-1 experience. As others have suggested, you really should look elsewhere (FourThirds forum); this tends to be an Oly legacy board. tony c
I've had my E3 since November and compared to my E500 I prefer the E3. I was particularly interested in the Image Stabilisation in the body rather than the lens - as I use a Sigma 50-500mm for shots at airshows and need ALL the help I can get. The IS is certainly helpful so far, but haven't tried it with the "Bigma" yet. I doubt if it will allow me to handhold at full stretch, but from the results with my 50-200, 14-54 and recently 7-14mm it is worth having. The Auto WB is outstanding and I haven't yet had to adjust any of my RAW files. I use Capture 1 4 and their E3 camera profile is spot-on. I can happily use up to ISO 800 without having to use Noise Reduction software. Higher ISO does require pp noise reduction, but what do you expect :) I always use RAW with everything except WB set to manual, so can't comment on any of the auto settings. Very happy with the E3 and would buy it again. My advice is not to pay too much attention to all the negative comments on Dpreview, in my opinion it's mostly a "Crock".
