tony_taylor1
While waiting on Nikon to ship the BL-3, I decided to try a temporary solution which allows me to use the EN-EL4a from my D2X. I removed the four small screws from the AA battery holder tray that ships with the MB-D10 This left me with the just the cover. I then placed the EN-EL4a inside the MB-D10, making sure that the pins connect. To make sure the pins stayed connected, I used a piece of foam appox. 4in. x 1in. x 1in., folded in half with the ends taped together and stuffed it inside on top of the EN-EL4a and locked the cover in place. I put about a 3in. piece of black electrical tape around where the cover and MB-D10 meet to help hold it in place. It works, and the black tape is not that noticeable. This is just a temporary solution. I will buy the BL-3 when it becomes available for a reasonable price. For those of you who must have it now, there is one on the big auction site for $95 plus $15 shipping. Thanks<div></div>

chris_burville
looks like you've come up with a rather elegant solution. well done. i guess nikon's not managed to keep up with demand for those plugging en-el4a's into their D300's. The battery life is brilliant compared to those pathetic little en-el3e's. luckily i bought a bl-3 well in advance of the D300's release... hehe, smart move by me. the grip with an en-el4a just belongs on the D300. married, mine are... doccamera
I am still waiting for my BL-3 to come in from Ritz which I ordered at the same time as my D300 and Battery Pack back in mid November. I recieved the D300 and Battery Pack quickly. I can't wait to get some REAL Battery power into that MB-D10! I did try Tony's temporary fix and it has been a nice tease until I get the real thing.
