kevin_m_brennan
Quick question, any body know, or have experience using the new Canon 48mm Circular Polarizing (PL-C) Glass Filter - Drop-In that is made for the newer EF autofocus lense on a Canon FD 600mm 4.5? I want to use a polarizer on my FD 600mm lense and don`t know the best or easiest way to get this done. Any help or advice would be a great help. Thanks, Kevin m Brennan saltyfli@aol.com

kevin_m_brennan
Thanks Mark for the speedy answer. I know you are "the go to guy on FD stuff", but the new polarizer costs $160.00 without shipping and taxes so I have to be "bet the ranch" sure it will fit and work. Thanks again, saltyfli. awahlster
Kevin you could call some where like B&H Photo and ask about a return policy OR KEH and ask if they could check since they sell both new and old Canon telephoto's. Another option would be to see about buying one of the other cheaper EF mount filters off ebay and trying it then reselling it. BUT to the best of my knowledge they are physically the same. kevin_m_brennan
Mark, once again you are right. I bought the filter and it does fit and work in the 600mm 4.5. By the way, calling Canon and speaking to a tech they said it would not work because the newer lense had a different element formulas. How stupid was that answer? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
