tommyinca
Or Pentax K10D, K100D, Or Canon 40D, 400D Xti, Nikon D80, Olympus E510, they are all good. IMHO, Pentax and Olympus seems to have the best features for the money.
bueh
First -- what budget. Then -- what kind of camera (film vs digital, compact vs SLR vs rangefinder). Last but not least -- for what exact applications mostly. JAPster
Hi VB. Sounds like the first decisions should be.. a) the budget bracket, how much can you spend? b) digital camera or film camera? c) then specific model #'s. If you decide on a 35mm SLR film camera, I would suggest that a Nikon N75 or Sigma SA-7N Kit ( camera, 2 lenses, and bag). Both of these cameras are in the same category: advanced/manual 35mm film cameras. Both are about the same size and weight. And both pack about the same amount of functions into the unit. You can find the Sigma SA-7N Kit pretty cheap on the Internet. It includes the 35mm camera body, 2 lenses, and a basic carrying bag. These are selling on the Internet for $100-$150. In my opinion, either of these 2 cameras would be good starter cameras, and neither one of them will cost you the farm.
Andy Collins
Are you new to the arena of photography in general, or digital photography specifically? I agree with Bueh that it would help to know if you're talking about film or digital, compact or slr. That info would help us to make better recommendations. serjohn
Nikon F2. Built like a tank and will outlive you. If you get one that uses non-AI lenses you can get the lenses dirt cheap.
