kenneth_drake
Opening two NEF images that are similar but different names and switching back and forth between them causes NX to lock when attempting to close them. I have to use Windows Task Manager to quit - NX using 480 megs memory with both images open, 50% cpu when idle (spiking to 100%). Photoshop 6.0 uses ~100megs with same images open. I get the "hour glass" for many minutes until I'm finally convinced that NX has locked. I then use Windows Task Manager to quit NX. kenneth_drake
Let me clarify the two images. The names of the files are _DSC0132.NEF (the original from D70 - 6,444,470 bytes) and _DSC0132a.nef (an edited image (color and highlights) - 9,886,967 bytes +33.5MB temporary cache and a small orange {lightning bolt} in info screen at top of image??). And can anyone tell me why the 33 meg cache and the huge memory requirement (70meg no image, 323 meg original NEF only, and 428 both) of NX compared to Photoshop 6 (36 meg no image, 86 meg original, 90 edited image).
