mike_young1
Is there anyway to fix a non level horizon in either a raw or jpg image using DPP. I can rotate 90 but all I want to do is rotate a couple of degrees. tia
mariuccio
Use a Picture Eeditor like Photoshop, PaintShopPro etc. You can rotate 0,1 degree olso in any direction. Mario

tridakfoto
Nope? There is always a way! Well almost ... I have fixed many horizons by rotating them just a tad in a certain direction or cropping if needed (very little if possible, any more and you may as well throw the shot). It can be done in Photoshop or other programs ... if you can't find a way to fix it you can email me and I'll help you if you like. Good luck, I'm sure you can do it though. mendel_leisk
"Nope?" That's a little suprising. I've installed DPP, but only use Adobe Camera Raw. It has a straight forward levelling tool, requiring you to trace a known horizontal (or vert) part of the image, and it rotates and autocrops to suit. I've opened DPP a few times, and found it somewhat befuddling. Just the way the windows pop up for the browser vs editor, for example. No levelling tool? Maybe "Pro's" alway get their horizons horizontal, LOL.
erictomenga
Gimp 2.0 with the RAW plug-in works too if you don't have Photoshop. I've used it to straighten a photo or two.
r.rajamani
Try Irfan View. It is a free download and lets you rotate an arbitrary number of degrees. It gives you a preview too.
alan_myers
Dunno about DPP, I don't use it. But, yep, I can confirm it's very fast and easy to correct in the RAW thumbnail displayed in Adobe Camera Raw. ACR is more accurate at it than me dragging at the edge of a crop of the image, too. (Thankfully, since I sometimes have to edit 1800 photos and more than a few can be improved with a little straightening!)
PuppyDigs
Ah juz' props ma cinerma dispaly along one side wiz ah matchbook 'n it's level. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
geoffm
Calling Canon! Just put a "free rotate" facility into the Trimming Tool and all will be forgiven!
bobatkins
Nope. You can display a grid to see how far off horizontal you are, but you can't correct a tilt in version 3.2. Maybe in version 3.3?
knweiss
Nope, this is unfortunately *the* missing feature in DPP. Otherwise it's really usable nowadays.
