mike_gillespie
Anyone know who can repair built in meters on Zeiss cameras? Specifically Contax IIIa and Contessa folder.
carbon_dragon
Maybe here: http://www.zeisscamera.com/ That's Henry Scherer. It might take forever, but I bet he can repair them. You might be able to find a specialist who can fix the cells if that is what is wrong. You could email him and ask.
tri-x1
Often it is the soldered connections for the meter--not the selenium cell itself, that is bad.
riccardo_mottola
as Wayne wrote sometimes it is contacts. Sometimes the cell goes bad, but sometimes the coil of the instrument goes bad. I just attempted a repair of my polomatic and was pretty happy to be able to repair the coil, it is an extremely tricky business, most repairmen refuse to do it. Unfortunately the whole thing doesn't work reliably anyway due to the weird and unreliable "auto exposure" and regulation system before the lens. But that is another story.
